  3. Delmarva Power Once you land on the outage map page, click on this link to read the guide on how to navigate the outage map application.

  7. Delmarva Power Outage Map Information can be found at www.delmarva.com Once you find the Outage Map, click on the link Guide to Our Outage Map. (This guide will help you navigate the application) The Outage Map application includes: Outage Summaries by County - It includes the total number of customers and the total number of customers that are without service. Outages by Area or Location - Area outage information will include zip codes and display the general area affected by the outage. Location outage information displays the customers affected, the time the outage was reported, the possible cause, the crew status and the estimated time of restoration. Other Attributes - The maps can be moved left and right and you can zoom in and zoom out as well. To find out information about a specific area, place your mouse over the colored outage area or outage location triangle. A dialog box will automatically open. A stacked triangle denotes that there are multiple outages grouped together at this zoom level. You can zoom in to see the individual outages.

  9. Power Restoration In the event our system is damaged by severe weather, Delmarva Power repairs equipment which will restore the largest numbers of customers first. Generally, the sequence is as follows: 1. Downed live wires or potentially life-threatening situations and public health and safety facilities without power. 2. Transmission lines serving thousands of customers, 3. Substation equipment, 4. Main distribution lines serving large numbers of customers; 5. Secondary lines serving neighborhoods, 6. Service lines to individual homes and businesses.

Three-Phase Distribution Trunk Lines – Power lines you see along major roads and highways (Prioritized considering lines 4 & 5) • 4. Public Health and Safety (Hospitals, EOCs, Police Stations, Fire Houses, Water Supply, etc.) • 5. Priority Customers (Shelters, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, etc.)

  11. Restoration Specifics • 6. Three-Phase Tap Lines – they carry service beyond major roadways and towers toward major developments, schools, businesses • 7. Single-Phase Tap Lines- they carry service through developments to streets, cul-de-sacs, outlying areas • 8. Distribution Transformers- gray cans on poles or green boxes on lawns • 9. Individual Services • 10. Privately-Owned Facilities

Power restoration process • Rear Lot or backyard electric infrastructure is challenging: • Limited use of mechanized equipment • Access and terrain • Tree conditions • Customer property • If Tree A falls on a high-voltage transmission line, the substation will lose power, so the entire community will lose power. • If Tree B falls on a distribution line, the northern side of the street will lose power, but the southern side of the street will not. Customers on the northern side of the street will be pressed to understand why their southern neighbors' houses have power. • If Tree C falls on a tap line, the southern side of the street will lose power, but the northern side of the street will not. Customers on the southern side of the street will be pressed to understand why their northern neighbors' houses have power. • If Tree D falls on a service-drop line, only one house will lose power. No other houses on that side of the street will be affected, and that customer will be pressed to understand why. • If Tree E falls on a distribution line, all customers served by that line will lose power.
