  2. What is the EAP? Employee Assistance Program A company sponsored program to assist employees and their dependents with personal concerns. The program offers you sensitive, professional, and confidential support.

  3. The Goal of your EAP The goal of your Employee Assistance Program is to provide early intervention to help you deal with any problems in your life before these problems jeopardize your health, family, or job performance.

  4. SERVICES PROVIDED • An assessment and plan of action • Professional short term counseling • Support and referral • Follow-up on services provided if requested • Information on community & regional resources • On site educational programs/presentations

The Scope of Employee Assistance • Family Issues • Marital & Personal relationship. • Family Issues – (parent-child conflicts, sandwich generation, blended family issues) • Death of friend or relative • Pregnancy • Health • Alcohol and Drug abuse • Feelings and emotions • Smoking • Weight Management • Eating Disorders

  7. Will my employer know I came to the EAP? No (unless you are mandated from your employer to come to the EAP and have signed a release of information.)

  8. Who Can Use the EAP? All Employees • In fact, your company encourages all employees to access the program before problems become overwhelming. Immediate Family • Employee’s Dependents (age 26 and younger) • Employee’s Spouse or Partner

  9. What are the costs? The EAP is a company Prepaid Benefit. There is no insurance record, and referrals are given as needed. Included with your EAP are 3 FREE sessions. • FREE-Initial Prescreen/Assessment • FREE-First Follow-up Session • FREE-Second Follow-up Session FREE

What is the cost of a referralif I need a referral? • If you are then referred to a community-based agency, the EAP is available to help determine if the cost of treatment is covered by your health insurance plan. • If services are not covered, EAP staff can help you minimize the cost by making a referral to the most appropriate agency, based on your ability to pay.
