  2. Relief: a method of molding, carving, or stamping in which the design stands out from the surface, to a greater (high relief) or lesser (bas-relief) extent.

  3. Plaster: a hard white substance made by the addition of water to powdered and partly dehydrated gypsum, used for holding broken bones in place and making sculptures and casts

  4. Mold: a hollow container used to give shape to a liquid when it cools and hardens

  5. Non-Objective: Art that does not attempt to represent external, recognizable reality but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures

  7. 1. Create a mold using clay and a box 2. Create an interesting non-objective design using marks made by everyday objects 3. Cover the entire surface area with texture 4. Make some marks deep and keep others shallow to create your relief 5. Pour plaster into your mold 6. Let plaster dry & remove. Voila!
