  5. How many types of main ideas are there? Stated Implied • Stated sentence that is located anywhere in the paragraph • Not a direct sentence • Use information from sentences within the paragraph to come to the main idea in own words • Infer (context clue)

  6. What is a thesis? Is it the same as a main idea? Similar to the main idea because it is the who what??? Of the entire reading (chapter, article, short story, passage, etc.) Again it is the topic and the controlling thought
