  3. By participating in GA Journey, a girl • Selects activities that appeal to her • Increases her knowledge of missions • Grows in her own missions lifestyle • Further develops her sense of confidence, and • Receives recognition for individual achievements in her missions journey

  4. GA Journey Resources

  5. How does GA Journey work? • Each girl completes one activity from each of the following growth areas each year: • I am a GA • I Do Missions • I Give • I Help Missionaries • I Learn the Bible • I Pray • I Serve My Church • I Tell About Jesus

  6. GA Journey Leader Guide Example of growth area (8 in all) Example of activity (18 included for each growth area) Example of grade level options Example of instructions The GA Journey Leader Guide is the guidebook for all grade levels, with over 100 pages of resources including 144 different activities, useful forms, award information, basic instructions for GA Journey, and more. The GA leader assists girls to choose age appropriate activities and provides instructions, materials needed and guidance.

  7. Sample GA Journey Activity Book – Grade 3 Graded reading level Growth area Journaling, reflection and personal growth area Additional requirement for this growth area Each girl needs her own grade level GA Journey activity book, from first through sixth grade. Each book is designed to encourage spiritual development as each girl journals about the activity she has chosen for each growth area and as she completes additional requirements for each area at her grade level. Typically 3-4 pages are designated for completing each growth area in her activity book.

  8. Where does GA Journey fit into the Curriculum? ? GA Journey is an OPTION. For groups choosing to participate, GA leaders are responsible for guiding girls through this journey of missions growth and achievement. The fourth session of each unit is designed for participation in GA Journey, although alternative activities are included in GA Leader in the fourth session each month as well. Girls can also work on it at home, during a special GA Journey event or at any other time and place during the year. GA Journey is ideal for homeschoolers!

  9. What about awards in GA Journey? The award system designed to recognize each girl’s individual achievement in GA Journey is based on badges and stars. Each badge corresponds to one of the eight areas of the GA Journey and the stars represent completion of a growth area, with a different color for each grade level.
