  2. Oil for Development Program • The Oil for Development (OfD) programme was launched by the Norwegian Government in 2005. The operative goal of the programme is "economically, environmentally and socially responsible management of petroleum resources which safeguards the needs of future generations". • My organization is the Norwegian Environment Agency, EPA is ourcounterpart in theenvironmental management. • Ultimatelythisprocess is abouthow to establishstructureswhichare sound in relation to petroleum management • We have contributedonsuchprocessesamongother in Uganda, East Timor, Ghana, Sudan and Zambia.

Commercial and open source software - challenges • Open Source software as part of development cooperation is not a matter of principle. • Choosing software in development cooperation projects is about finding good software tools to help you do the job. • Commercial software has a place – as long as it does not compromiselong term goals • Both Uganda and Tanzania has toldushowcommercialsoftwarecould be problematic
