  4. Members’ activities:

Aims and Services of SKOP (i) SKOP’s aimsto improve Malta's contribution to International Development Cooperation by promoting the exchange of experience, ideas and information amongst its members, between networks of NGOs in Malta and internationally, with the Maltese Government, and between its members and other Maltese bodies with an interest in international development and humanitarian aid. To support this work, the Platform manages training, advocacy and information services. SKOP deliverscapacity building and training to its members in Development and Global Citizenship Education and awareness raising, advocacy and international project implementation. SKOP supports its members in bringing to the fore their valuable knowledge, experience and expertise.

  6. Aims and Services of SKOP(ii) SKOP facilitates experience sharing, study visits and local and international networking between organisations. Our members are engaging in networking, field work and research in territories that either are already within the operational field of the organisations or that have been identified as priority regions in Malta’s Overseas Development Policy. SKOP organises for its membership study visits and networking opportunities with other national platforms and networks, such as CERCLE (the Luxembourg Platform), VENRO (the German Platform) and CIPSI (an Italian network based in Rome).

SKOP’s Working Groups SKOP is represented in the a number of CONCORD working groups, namely (1) Development Education Forum; (2) EU-Africa WG; (3) FDR WG; (4) Gender WG; (5) Policy Forum; (6) Aid Watch WG; (7) EPAN WG. Locally, SKOP facilitates the following working groups: 1. Health Care Access to Migrants; 2. Development Education (ad-hoc); 3. Aid Watch; 4. EU-Africa (recently established); 5. Gender; 6. Mediterranean (focus on Palestine – recently established WG); 7. Overseas Volunteer-Sending (a process to facilitate communication and networking between members and non-members of the platform on development issues).
