PGY-2 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Effectively, efficiently, and sensitively interview and examine patients in both inpatient and outpatient encounter settings. • Obtain necessary medical information from all appropriate and available sources as needed for optimal care of patients • Recognize impact of co-existing illness and modify management (diagnostic and therapeutic) of primary diseases appropriately

PGY-2 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Identify and acknowledge gaps in personal knowledge and skills • Develop strategies for filling gaps in personal knowledge base • Expand each persons clinically applicable knowledge base of the basic and clinical sciences underlying the care of patients with medical illness in both inpatient and outpatient settings. • Communicate sensitively and effectively with patients with medical illnesses

PGY-2 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES • Communicate effectively with nursing and other ancillary staff members to optimize care of patients in both in-patient and outpatient settings • Behave professionally toward patients, families, colleagues, and all members of the health care team • Use evidence-based, cost-conscious strategies in the care of patients with medical illnesses in both inpatient and outpatient setting
