  17. The library’s unique human resources, especially professionals, are the main reasons why FII cannot replace the current library system. A lot of information is not available from the free Internet. There is a major difference on quality control. Will the Free Internet Information (FII) replace the library? Why not? SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY FORUM

  19. Individual study is ranked No. 1 for first and third purposes in using the library, No. 2 for second purpose in using the library, cited by a total of 91.7/300 (30.6%) of respondents. Using a group study room is ranked No. 3 for first and third purposes in using the library, No. 1 for second purpose in using the library, cited by a total of 56.3/300 (18.8%). 20. Internet can deliver information worldwide in seconds, can provide remote and convenient access to the library information, and can provide 24/7 services for reference and electronic information. It could thereby strongly enhance the traditional library’s role and function in new directions, environments and shapes. Taking Advantage of the Internet: SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY FORUM
