Career Ready 101/KeyTrain • Set up your system • Group (school year, calendar year, or physical year) • Classes (per year, per program/instructor) • Logins (student UN/PW) • Assign Core Lessons to Classes, Limit pretest/lesson attempts • “Require” core pretests & set score goals (Use WorkKeys Job Profiles) • WorkKeys Job Profiles: Average WorkKeys Scores Needed by Job Title: http://www.act.org/workkeys/skillsearch.html?q=A • KeyTrain Skill Match Match WorkKeys scores to O*NET Job Database http://profiles.keytrain.com/profile_search/ • WorkKeys Profiles Quick Reference Make your own list of frequently used scores Build the Foundation!

Career Ready 101/KeyTrain • CR101/KeyTrain Scores • Choctaw Career Development Sets goals of 5 in AM, LI, & RI prior to WorkKeys • Rule of Thumb: CR101 score = one level higher than WorkKeys score (i.e. CR101 level 5 = WK level 4) • Set upskilling schedules • Use reports to monitor progress • Administer WorkKeys when student reaches goal levels

  6. CRC101 Effectiveness Total CRCs as of Sept. 21, 2012: 2590 (39% increase since Aug. 2011)

  7. CR101 Challenges • Communicating the value to students/clients • Monitoring lesson progress on larger groups • Occasional issue with transfer of data to Reports

Administering the WorkKeys • Site license through ACT • Administrator/Proctor Training • Site Admin is responsible to see that all test administrators/proctors are properly trained and that they adhere to ACT’s testing standards. • ACT provides online proctor training. (Susan or Rosemary can help with access to it) • Testing Accommodations – closely follow ACT guidelines for accommodations and document each step and outcome of accommodated testing sessions.

Administering the WorkKeys • Maintain proper testing environment • Online or Paper/Pencil versions • Testing Records • Obtain, secure, and maintain test registration information, ID, score reports, testing logs. • Use binders for storing information alphabetically by year. • Keep copies of CRC’s • Re-testing for higher CRC Level • Must wait 30 days • Must successfully complete upskilling lessons • Only one re-take

WorkKeys Testing • Obtain proper ID • Test Registration Form • Validus System • Administrator and Examinee logins • Registration input/Examinee review • Exam Authorization • Examinee Preparation (cell phone, tutorial, scratch paper/pencils, calculator, AM Formula sheet, time, etc.) • Visual Monitoring • Print Score Reports • WorkKeys Testing Log

  11. WorkKeys Challenges • Registration process for a larger group • Test Authorization for a larger group • Computer issues • Test sites who are unfamiliar with processes

  12. WorkKeys Scores • Validus – Score Downloading • Frequent score downloads • Save downloaded files as a CSV formatted spreadsheet • State CRC Database • Upload CSV file/WorkKeys scores • Regularly upload scores & keep upload records

  13. WorkKeys/CRC Upload Record Super Important! --- Uploading of scores is the only way that the printed CRC certificate gets into the hands of the job seeker!
