Louisiana Title V Program • Long term relationship between Title V Director and MCH Section • Title V Director Chair of Tulane MCPHLT Community Advisory Board • Pre-Katrina close physical relationship • Alumni of Tulane MCH program at La OPH, particularly Title V program • Regular strategic discussions with Title V Director

Fetal Infant Mortality Review Board Coordinators • Regular meetings with Maternal Health Coordinator for LA • Eight regional FIMR coordinators, RNs • Training needs assessment • Prioritization and planning • Workshops • Cultural competency dealing with pregnant and post partum Hispanic women • Post- partum mental health • Domestic violence and maternal and child health • Grief counseling for neonatal and perinatal loss • Breastfeeding Workshop • Advocacy 101

  5. Nurse Family Partnership • Pilot evaluated by MCH faculty • 4 Regions in LA • Program Director Adjunct faculty in MCH • Student group develops advocacy and sustainability plan for NFP expansion • Partners on Peer education Stress and Coping grant

MCH Epidemiology Program • Staff alumni and adjunct in MCH section • Serve as a Laboratory for the MCH MPH program • Provide hands on skill building workshops and seminars • Provide practicum projects for dedicated MCH Epidemiology students • Provided funding for students to complete internships in MCH Epi Section • Stable student volunteers supporting daily activities and special events • Establishing regional network in MCH

  7. La OPH MCH Pipeline • Student internship and work-study program coordinated by La OPH paid core faculty member. • Pre Katrina 75-65 internship annually • Title V virtual tour • Collaborate on OPH orientation • Standardizing the MCH practicum • Enhancing skill building with abstract writing and poster presentation
