    7. Regional Election Conventions The Election Convention is one of the most exciting events all year. Here, students seeking to serve in leadership positions campaign for offices like Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House, and more.

    9. Election Convention Candidates campaign with each delegation trying to win their votes.

    10. Election Convention Voting takes place through an electoral voting process, based on club size.

    11. Officer’s Training Students elected as conference officers attend special training events to prepare them to lead the Model Government Convention. Small groups, take what they learn back to their clubsSmall groups, take what they learn back to their clubs

    12. Model Legislature For students, this conference is the most exciting event all year, and the culmination of their hard work.

    13. Model Legislature The three day event begins a day early for the officers, who come to receive their final training and learn to work together to help every person in attendance have a great experience.

    14. Model Legislature The Youth and Government Legislature consists of a model General Assembly with both a House of Representatives and Senate

    15. House of Representatives Most delegates will serve as members of the House.

    16. House of Representatives The Presiding Officer is the Youth Speaker of the House

    17. The Senate Senators are usually upperclassmen who are more experienced in debate.

    18. The Senate The Lt. Governor presides over the debate in the senate, along with the Party Leaders.

    20. Executive Branch Headed by the Youth Governor, who is elected at the previous years convention, the executive branch mirrors the job of the real “Office of the Governor.”

    21. Executive Branch The Youth Governor works with the cabinet, liaisons and staff to push important legislation.

    22. Legislative Process Students whose bills pass committee and both the House and Senate are sent to the Governor for a signature or veto.

    23. Local Clubs The club is the heart of the program. The state events are important, but the real benefit comes from a positive club experience every week.
