  3. Background We work in a world of constant change, where senior leaders, managers and team members are required to manage and deliver projects. Whether delivered by dedicated Project Managers or those working on projects in addition to the day job, delivering projects creates significant challenges that all too often compromises results delivery. What can be done to equip your people with the tools and skills they need to manage these challenges and deliver successful projects? Enable your people to develop real skill and proficiency in applying a proven, simple and effective project delivery method. In parallel, equip them with the fundamental skills of human cooperation, so that they can lead and contribute positively to successful projects. main menu

  4. Project Management Definition Project management is “the application of processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to achieve the project objectives.” General A project as “a unique, transient endeavour, undertaken to achieve planned objectives, which could be defined in terms of outputs, outcomes or benefits.” A project is usually deemed to be a success if it achieves the objectives according to their acceptance criteria, within an agreed timescale and budget. The project manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the project and must be competent in managing the six aspects of a project, i.e. scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resources. Well-developed interpersonal skills such as leadership, communication and conflict management are also vitally important. 6. Coverdale Insights There are many accredited Project Management training and qualifications available (APM, PMI and PRINCE2 for example ), which predominantly focus on the more technical and contextual attributes of Project Management. However, our history and experience tells us that all to often there is a gap in an individual’s ability to practically and effectively apply these attributes across different types of projects. At Coverdale, we recognise that delivering successful project outcomes is dependant on these technical and contextual attributes being consistently underpinned by the successful application of leadership and cooperative skills, along with consistently demonstrating the right behaviours. Coverdale’s Systematic Approach to Delivering Successful Projects, is a simple and highly effective method for individuals, teams and organisations in a world of increasing volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. main menu
