  4. Daily Maintenance • Update Anti-Virus • Update Ad Blockers • Delete temporary files from your hard drive. • Reboot when a program crashes

  5. Weekly Maintenance • Scandisk • Defragment • Backup your data • Run full scans for Viruses and Adware • Check your startup programs. • Clean your internet browser cache.

  6. Monthly Maintenance • Run a Registry scanner to: Remove corrupted, unused, or unnecessary keys. • Update drivers and BIOS • Update your programs • Remove unused programs • Conduct a full diagnostic check

Syntax Usage: CHKDSK [drive:][[path]filename] [/F] [/V] [/R] [drive:] Specifies the drive to check/F Fixes errors on the disk/V Displays the full path and name of every file on the disk/R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information/C NTFS only: skips checking of cycle within directory tree/I NTFS only: performs a less vigorous check of index

Boot up Problems • Nothing at all happens when you turn on the computer. • You can hear the machine booting, but do not see an images on the screen. • The computer is making a clicking or banging noise and will not boot. • The machine starts to boot into Windows and then locks up or gives error message. • The computer is booting into Safe Mode.
