  2. Strong-willed • A strong willed person usually doesn’t back down when posed with a challenge. • Strong-willed people are determined to behave in a particular way, even if other people disagree with them. • Positive

  3. Self-conscious • Most people are very self-conscious about a particular body part. • Self-conscious people are shy and easily embarrassed because they think that everybody is looked at them and judging them.

  4. Laid-back • He has a really laid-back style as a boss. He never checks on us and he lets us have all the time we need to finish our projects. • Laid back people are relaxed and appear not to be worried about anything.

  5. Open-minded • You have to be open-minded when you learn a new language. Not all expressions, grammar rules or vowel sounds will coincide with your native tongue and you have to be ready to accept that. • Open-minded people are happy to accept ideas and ways of life that are different to their own.

  6. Self-centered • He’s very self-centered in general. He never helps anyone else at work and he’s only interested in making himself look like the hardest worker in the office. • Self-centered people are only interested in themselves and their own activities.

  7. Narrow-minded • He’s very narrow-minded. He never thinks how others might feel on a subject. He only sees things from his own point of view. • Narrow-minded people don’t want to accept new ideas or opinions that are different from their own.

  8. Easy-going • My student, Beatriz, is the epitome of easy-going. She never takes things too seriously and she’s always content with her progress in English as well as her life. • Easy-going people aren’t easily upset, worried or annoyed by problems or other people’s actions.

  9. Big-headed • My friend can be quite big-headed when it comes to teaching English. She thinks she is always right and knows what to do. • Big-headed people think they are more important or cleverer than they really are.

  10. Bad-tempered • Some people say red heads are bad-tempered. • Bad tempered people are often annoyed, angry or impatient.

  11. Absent-minded • I can be a little absent-minded when I’m tired. • Absent-minded people tend to forget things.

  12. Level-headed • Are you very level-headed or do you consider yourself hot-headed? • Level-headed people are calm and able to make sensible decisions in difficult situations
