RESIDUAL STUDIES

RESIDUAL STUDIES. ANALISYS UNDER DIFFERENT SITUATIONS. Residual comparison between old ntupla (TOTdebug3.root, gauss v25r12) and new geometry new gauss (v30r4) just first pad selected (M2-M3 are rebinned 4 also in the next slides). OLD. NEW.

  1. RESIDUAL STUDIES ANALISYS UNDER DIFFERENT SITUATIONS Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  2. Residual comparison between old ntupla (TOTdebug3.root, gauss v25r12) and new geometry new gauss (v30r4) just first pad selected (M2-M3 are rebinned 4 also in the next slides) OLD NEW Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  3. COMPARISON BETWEEN OLD NTUPLA GAUSS V25R12 & THE SAME NTUPLA REPROCESSED USING THE LAST VERSION OF AllineaBrunel (not big pad) OLD REPROCESSED Simone Brusa, INFN sezione di Ferrara

  4. What is it changed?Did we changed the selection Algorithm? Selected just the first pad for both. Brunel ntupla reprocessed with last version of root`s macro, no big pad. Old digi reprocessed under new Brunel version (v32r1), same root`s macro Response: no! Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  5. From the previous slides. we can see that the results obtained using the last version of AllineBrunelCTalk, are comparable. It`s even better than before, remember that we are using the right pad size (different from TDR) and a new binning. Now the question is: why the residual distributions are so bad now? It depends on the geometry? No (see the plot)! OLD GEOMETRY, NEW GAUSS V30R4 Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  6. New geometry, old Gauss v25r12, just first pad selected Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  7. BOTH NEW GEOMETRY & FIRST PAD SELETCTED GAUSS V25R12 GAUSS V30R4 They are comparable! B is on for both! Is it the source of the problem? Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  8. RESUMING TABLE Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  9. New geometry, new Gauss, Boole & Brunel, just first pad selected & Boff (172k muon tracks reconstructed) Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  10. Conclusions & to do 1/2 • Seems that the source of our problem is a bad pattern recognition with the magnetic field on. • The selection used is just the first pad; • Respect to the last report, I found a my mistake in the code and the Z correction doesn`t remove the jumps in the Xpad-XMChit distribution between adjacent rows & columns of chambers • I would to check the results one more time in order to guarantee them. Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara

  11. Conclusions & to do 2/2 • Next step will be run Brunel setting properly the flag B field to false (should not change the results);I already submit the jobs; • Remove the cut on the mchits inside the pads; • Modify the pattern recognition algorithm to work properly also with B on; • Do you have any suggestion?(example look at the center of the B field instead on IP, …) Simone Brusa, INFN-Ferrara
