  3. What are Traineeships? Traineeships are made up of three core elements: • A high quality work experience placement to give the young person meaningful work experience and to develop workplace skills. • A focused period of work preparation training, covering areas like CV writing, interview preparation, job search and inter-personal skills. • English and maths, as these are seen as crucial employability skills. • Traineeships from Pearson • Education to Employment Conference

  4. Traineeships Definitions for Success Outcomes • A 20% achievement payment for the single work experience and work preparation rate is based on the learner progressing to one of the successful outcomes, rather than the achievement of a qualification. To work, to an apprenticeships or further study. • Successful outcomes will be within 6 months of leaving/completing a traineeship. • To have had 8 consecutive weeks of employment/self-employment of 16 hours a week or more. • To have started on an apprenticeship by passing the qualifying period to count in funding terms. • To have started on a further learning course at level 2 or level 3 by passing the qualifying period to count in funding terms - the further learning should include a substantial qualification recognised in the DfE performance tables. • Traineeships from Pearson • Education to Employment Conference
