  1. Mocking Jay By: Suzanne Collins

  2. Genre the genre of mockingjay is sci-fi. It’s very suspenseful and action packed, with a slight bit of romance between a few characters. You learn in this book that you go through life having to sacrifice things and people you love to save others. You also learn that life isn’t what you always want it to be.

  3. About the Author Since 1991, Suzanne Collins has been busy writing for children’s television. She has worked on the staffs of several Nickelodeon shows, Clarissa Explains it All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. She helped with other shows like Little Bear and Oswald. She also co-wrote the Christmas special, Santa, Baby! Most recently she was the Head Writer for Clifford’s Puppy Days. While thinking about Alice in Wonderland she thought in New York City, you’re much more likely to fall down a manhole than a rabbit hole and, if you do, you’re not going to find a tea party. What you might find...? Well, that’s the story of Gregor the Overlander, and The Underland Chronicles. At present, Suzanne is hard at work on the third book in her sci-fi series, The Hunger Games.

  4. Plot Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.

  5. Point of View The point of view in the story is first person point of view. Katniss Everdeen is the main character and is the narrator. Through out the Hungergames Katniss is going through life or death situations, literally. She has been through two Hungergames now and the Capital wants revenge and wants to kill her. She knows she needs to protect her family and loved ones so she decides to become the Mockingjay, so she can defeat the capital and get peace for her fellow districts.

  6. Conflicts The capital wants to kill Katniss and all of her fellow districts. Peeta is captured by the capital and they are torturing him. The capital is killing every district off. Katniss gets shot. When they rescue Peeta he thinks Katniss is a monster and needs to be killed because the capital brain washed him.

  7. Main Characters Katniss Everdeen Peeta Mellark Gale Hawthorne Haymitch Abernathy Primrose Everdeen

  8. Likes What I liked about this book is that it had a bit of everything I love to be in a book. It had a little bit of romance, suspense, Action, and much more. It also is very detailed, you can follow along very well. It’s the kind of book that once you read it you cant put it down.

  9. Dislikes What I really didn’t like about the book is that at the beginning of the book was very boring. It made me want to skip about 50 pages up. What I also didn’t like is that Gale was very obsessive about everything Katniss was doing. Peeta wasn’t even really in it but the last section. It was just about Katniss And Gale and I don’t really like Gale. I love Peeta and he was barely in it.

  10. Over all it’s a very good book. I recommend this book to everybody that likes suspense and romance and action. If you love all of that in a book you will love this book.
