Groton and Asheville Both sites being affected by the same ‘disturbance’, though different pieces of the larger wave It is a flat wave on an anabatic cold front that is ‘lifting’ toward the northeast The weak positive tilt to the trough axis means that the advection fields will tend to ‘outrun’ the vorticity associated lifting Since the wave is approaching the coast, moisture convergence should increase.
