3. 3 ETC/CCA 2012 activities & work progress • EEA 2012 “Climate change, impacts and vulnerability in Europe, An indicator-based report” • updated EEA core set of temperature indicators (Q1) • updated key indicators on climate change and its impacts for the EEA Indicator Management System (IMS) and relative metadata, text and figures (Q1 and Q2) • contributions to EEA draft report (atmosphere, cryosphere, terrestrial ecosystems and biodiversity; climate change risks and vulnerabilities) (Q1, Q2, Q3: final contribution after NFP/Eionet review) • Pilot for Climate information on Eye on Earth (EoE) • support EEA in implementing a pilot on Climate information on EoE: ETC/CCA Technical Paper (TP) on Climate information/indicators on EoE pilot, its functionalities, dataflow and citizen involvement (focusing on droughts, heat waves and phenology): EoE Workshop report and outline of TP (Q1), draft TP (Q2), final TP (Q4) • assessment of observations & scenarios in Climate-ADAPT ETC/CCA

4. 4 ETC/CCA 2012 activities & work progress • European Climate Adaptation Platform (Climate-ADAPT) • participation in training sessions (after the 23 March launch) (Q2) • drafted proposal for a Climate-ADAPT newsletter (Q2) • support to hosting and IT (Q2, Q3, Q4) • QA/QC: regular review and update of contents and ETC/CCA Working Paperreporting these activities (Q2, Q3, Q4) • EEA 2012 report “Urban adaptation to climate change in Europe” • finalized (in cooperation with EEA and ETC/SIA) EEA report on cities, their vulnerability to climate change and adaptation options (Q1) • support to ETC/SIA in reviewing and further improving the urban indicators for climate change vulnerability (Q2, Q3, Q4) • proposal for regularly updated urban vulnerability indicators: ETC/CCA Technical Paper (Q2, Q3, Q4) ETC/CCA

5. 5 ETC/CCA 2012 activities & work progress • EEA 2012 freshwater assessment report • 2011 joint ETC/CCA & ETC/ICM contributions undergone NFP/Eionet review and are almost finalized (Q1) • to be edited towards ETC/CCA Technical Paper on floods & ETC/ICM Technical Paper on water scarcity and droughts (Q4) • support/review/comment ETC/ICM Water Vulnerability Assessment report (Q4) • EEA 2012 coastal assessment report • received comments to draft 2011 contributions to the coastal assessment (on coastal vulnerability and adaptation) have been Implemented; further comments issued; further contributions under preparation (Q1, Q2) • review/comment the whole draft report (Q3) • EEA 2012 “Adaptation in Europe” report • first contribution to section on national adaptation strategies (Q1) • contributions to sections on: socio‐economic scenarios, national adaptation actions & case studies (Q2, Q3) ETC/CCA
