  2. Program that frames and guides a members leadership and service to their chapter and community. What are Torch Awards?

  3. Leadership • Service • Cooperation • Knowledge • Friendship • Love, Hope, and Faith • Patriotism There are seven categories

  4. Each one of you have a torch resume on bpa.org • To log on, you use your membership login as your username (Mrs. Munoz has them), and the password for everyone is “tptitans” • Each category has different descriptions of activities. • Each activity is worth 5, 10, 15, or 20 points depending on the difficulty of the activity. How do they work?

  5. Four levels of recognition

  6. ***EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO AT LEAST ACHIEVE THE DIPLOMAT LEVEL WHICH IS THIRTY POINTS IN EACH CATEGORY FOR A TOTAL OF 210 POINTS ***

  7. Presented with a certificate and pin honoring your achievement. • Students receiving the Ambassador Torch Award will be invited to the Honor Recipient Celebration. • Chance to go to State and Nationals WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?

  8. Second Chance! Once a resume is submitted, administrators evaluate the resume and either approve or reject the resume. If rejected student can then work on the resume and re-submit by the deadline.

  9. Activities only count during your membership of BPA. • Each activity description must start with an action verb • USE COMPLETE SENTENCES! • SPELLING AND GRAMMER! • Have the date you have done the activity prepared! RULES

Activity Attend a Business Professionals of America division advisory committee meeting (Identify the meeting) (1) Number of times allowed to use this activity

  12. Description that you write to explain activity: Code 315 October 15, 2013 “Attended a Business Professionals of America Division Committee meeting at the Odyssey Country Club Banquet Home. Worked and attended mini workshop to prepare for the area competitions with other members from other schools” Example Cont.

  14. Everyone already has ten points in the cooperation category because you are all going to attend the BPA conference in October

  15. There is a word document on bpa.org with selected descriptions that are easy to achieve that you can use on your resume
