  2. What Do I Do? I interpret technical concepts into easy to understand, step by step instructions and graphics. = License Some rights reserved by Linear77 License Some rights reserved by Paul L Dineen

  3. What Do I Do? The work I create for my full time job is proprietary, but I am able to share classwork here. This sample is a Scientific Study Poster I created for my Regulatory Writing class. I interpreted information from an actual study.

  4. What Do I Do? The link below displays a help system design that I designed for an online writing class: http://lisabrowntechwriter.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/lisa_brown_assignment-final_help_system_design_spec_latest.pdf

  5. How Do I Know How to Do This? I am a former test/manufacturing and hardware design engineer. Because of this background, I am more easily able to understand and interpret technical concepts. 6. How Do I Know How to Do This? I have a gift for writing and communicating with images, and an understanding that customers need the clearest possible instructions conveyed in the least amount of time. Sometimes this means using fewer words and more images.

  7. Who Am I? As I was growing up, I showed a talent for art. Everyone assumed I would go to art school and become an artist. All drawings are original art, Lisa Brown

  8. Who Am I? Instead, I took a hard left turn and got a job at a large defense contractor in my hometown of Nashua, NH. I went to school to be an electronics technician, and eventually moved into engineering. I have learned that art and engineering are not as diametrically opposed as I originally thought.

  9. What Do I Do These Days? In 2010, after years of wanting to do so, I made a career change from hardware design engineering to technical writing. Technical writing satisfies both halves of my brain by giving me a creative outlet, yet still allowing me to solve puzzles, as I did in engineering.

  10. What Do I Do These Days? I finally got the chance to write full time. I went back to school. I am a undergraduate in the Technical Communications B.S. program at Northeastern University. I am a technical communicator, and I love what I do.
