  1. Things that Accompany Salvation Hebrews 6:9-20

  2. God doesn’t forget those who serve the saints And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:42 ESV) And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40 ESV)

  3. God doesn’t forget those who serve the saints But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. (Hebrews 10:32-34 ESV)

  4. God doesn’t forget those who serve the saints If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:20-21 ESV) It is a demonstration of the love of God

  5. God promises an inheritance Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, (1 Peter 1:3-4 ESV) • Abraham is evidence the God’s promises are good • Inheritance is sure by 2 unchangeable things • God’s promise • and His oath

  6. God promises an inheritance This inheritance comes with diligence, faith, and patience

  7. We’re given hope as an anchor Desire + expectation = Hope …remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. (Ephesians 2:12 ESV) Gentiles…had been without hope!

  8. We’re given hope as an anchor Desire + expectation = Hope And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. (1 Corinthians 15:14, 17, 19 ESV)

  9. We’re given hope as an anchor Desire + expectation = Hope Jesus IS our hope Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, (1 Timothy 1:1 ESV) And again Isaiah says, “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”(Romans 15:12 ESV)

  10. We’re given hope as an anchor Desire + expectation = Hope Jesus IS our hope There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1 ESV)

  11. Given Jesus as our Forerunner But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9 ESV) • Goes behind the veil as a high priest • Goes as a high priest after a different order

  12. Given Jesus as our Forerunner • Goes behind the veil as a high priest • Goes as a high priest after a different order • Goes as a high priest “forever”

  13. What should have made the Hebrews steadfast should make us the same way • God doesn’t forget His servants • He has promised an inheiritance • He has sent Jesus as our hope/anchor • Jesus has become our forerunner Do these mean anything to us?
