Creating a character: To change emotionally, actors use the following: Review: • Motivation- The character’s reason for doing what they do. • Objectives- The character’s goal. • Tactics- The ways the character tries to reach their goal. • Obstacle- The things that get in the way of their character achieving their goal.

  4. Creating a character:Voice • Rate- How quickly or slowly you speak. • Volume- How loud or quiet. • Tone- The quality of your voice, like accents, or nasally tones, sick tones, etc. • Pitch- Not monotone, using inflection.

  5. Creating a Character:Body • Use your whole body to create a character: forehead, back, fingers, shoulders, teeth, lips, etc. • Facial expressions • Posture • Pace • Quirks/habits /repetitive gestures • Adjusts glasses, twirls hair, eye twitch, etc.)
