  2. Rules and Regulations • Students are to report to class on time. If the student is tardy they need a signed excuse. • >>PE<<If a student is injured or sick, a note from home should be given to the child with the reason, parents name and contact info. That note will last for two days. After the 2nd day if the student is still sick/injured a doctors excuse is required. If your child has asthma please be sure the clinic is aware of that and also give the clinic your child’s inhaler in the event he/she needs it. • NO gum/candy/food/drinks except water in a clear container allowed in the gym/locker rooms/health room. • NO perfume/lotion/sprays/AXE/baby oil/vaseline or spray deodorant allowed in the gym/locker rooms/health room. • Combination locks are not required however to assure your child’s belongings are safe they are requested.

  3. Appropriate PE attire • T-shirt (Black, white, gray or red), NO fitted T’s (girls), no midriff, no tank tops, no muscle shirts, no under armor, no wife beaters. • Bottoms (Black, white, gray or red), to the knee or basketball shorts, capris, sweat pants. All bottoms must have an elastic waist or drawstring, no zippers, no buttons, no jeans, or belt loops. • Clean socks and laced up sneakers (gym shoes). No Sperry’s, No open toe sandals, No slide in shoes, rubber soles. All gym shoes must be tied correctly during PE class. • No jewelry…rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces. STUDS are acceptable.

  4. Health and PE Curriculum • PE…Fitness Testing (Fitness Gram), Basketball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Recreation Activities, Fitness Runs (Weekly), Fitness Fun Friday. • Health…Too Good for Drugs (6-8), GREAT (Gang Resistance Education and Training 7th) Choosing the Best (Way 6th, Path 7th, Life 8th) which is the Abstinence Sex Ed course. Each child will receive a permission slip to be filled out by their parent or guardian., Nutrition, Hygiene, Fitness components and the FITT Principle. Clayton State Nursing Students • Every week students will do a 1 mile fitness run whether they are in PE or Health for that week.

  5. Fitness Gram • Each student enrolled in Physical Education will be given the Fitness Gram. This test measures they’re fitness level for their age and sex. • Your child’s height and weight will be taken. The students weight is confidential (ONLY the teacher knows how much the student’s weigh) • Tests…Sit and Reach (Flexibility), PACER (Cardio-respiratory Endurance), Curl-up (Muscular strength and Endurance), Push-up (Muscular strength and Endurance) • If your child is absent during the test or was not enrolled at the time of testing a special code will be put in. • Rockdale County has specific dates when the tests scores should be submitted in the Fall and the Spring. If your child is enrolled in PE in the Fall and Spring he/she will only be tested once.
