  1. Welcome to Mrs. Bautsch’s Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies class and Mrs. Jordan’s Math, Science, and Social Studies class!

  2. In 5th grade… • We are preparing your child for intermediate school. • We feel it is very important to have….high expectations. This includes: • following written and oral directions • having materials and assignments • maintaining self-control • accepting responsibility - socially and academically

  3. Bullying • Zero Tolerance • Bullying will not be tolerated. This includes hitting, kicking, teasing, threatening, taunting, assaulting, or any other form of written, verbal, physical, or electronic harassment toward another student that occurs at school.

  4. Attendance • Make-up work • Written note to attendance office within 5 days or it is unexcused • Early dismissal – notify by phone call to attendance office or note by 2:30

  5. Dress Code • Watch the short shorts. • No skinny straps for girls’ tops. • No jeans with tears or holes. • No beards or mustaches for the boys. • No hats or head coverings. • No feathers.

  6. Web Pages • You can get to our web pages by going to Kleinisd.net – Campuses – Kuehnle – Teachers - 5th – Marilyn Bautsch and/or Karyn Jordan. • There will be academic information, grading guidelines, upcoming events, etc.

  7. Available to parents online. Go to Kleinisd.net. Click on Parent Access. Then, go to Parent Connection. You must set up an account the first time. Then, you simply have to log on to access your child’s grades. The system updates as we enter grades. Grades

The math textbook is online as well at this site.

  12. 40 Book Challenge!! • Rules and Requirements • 1. Books must be read on or after August 25, 2014. • 2. Books must have at least 150 pages. • 3. Books must be at or above individual reading level. (In other words, you can’t read 40 first grade books no matter how many pages they have!) • 4. No more than 2 books can be graphic novels. • 5. Books must be recorded on reading log. • 6. Books must be approved by Mrs. Bautsch in order to count toward challenge.

  22. Tuesday Folders • Review papers. Keep all papers for your records! Sign and return Tuesday folder by Wednesday. • If there are no academic, work habits, or conduct concerns, there will be a sticker in the column for the week at the top of the page. An “x” in any area indicates concerns. • Check Parent Connection for grades!
