  4. How do we blank? • Important points: • Clean water w/o bubbles. • Calibrate sensors the same way they are deployed. • Take temperature reading (see soon).

How good is the assumption of a linear drift? • Suggested protocol: • Measure a and c of blank water. • Correct blank for temperature effects (relative to factory). • Measure a and c of CDOM • Correct for blank. • Correct for effect of temperature and salinity (relative to factory). How do we expect the a and c spectra of CDOM to look after all the corrections?
