  3. “GQE" for 9th, 10th & 11th Grades • Eng/LA is the English 10 ECA • Math is the Algebra I ECA • Will take Biology I ECA for No Child Left Behind Accountability • Retest window early Dec. • Regular test window early May

Additional information • Diploma waiver process will remain the same • Remediation for Algebra I & English 10 evenings from 3:05 to 5:00 pm • Monday- Algebra • Tuesday- English • Letters have been sent to students that need to attend • Remediation Begins: • Sept. 8th for Algebra • Sept. 9th for English

  5. PSAT testing • PSAT given in a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15th for 10th and 11th grades • PSAT is free for 10th grade students • Score reports returned in December • Take SAT/ACT during junior year

Weighted courses and GPA • Grades in Honors/dual credit courses receive an added point value of 0.8 • Grades in AP courses receive an added point value of 1.0 • Grades of A+ receive an added 0.1 • Students taking 7 courses per semester receive an additional quality point added to their total point value

  9. Dual Credit Courses • All are offered through OCU • Students must have a min. 2.5 GPA • Must have min. SAT of 1250 (3 sections) or • Must have min. ACT composite of 18 • Cost $25 per credit hour • Enrollment for full year courses in January • Enrollment process • Credit transfer • 21st Century Scholars are required to pay • Any student on Free/Reduced Lunches is excempt from the $25.00/credit hour fee

  10. What is the difference between Dual Credit and AP credit????? • Dual credit may or may not be accepted at all colleges • AP credits are accepted at all colleges unconditionally • You cannot combine AP and Dual credit for the same class

  11. We will have a informational AP night in early March to discuss the specific benefits and expectations of AP courses.

  12. Future Activities • Students will do career assessment activities in their Prep. For College and Careers class • All students meet with their counselor in the spring to choose classes for the next year • Start looking at what colleges require for admission • Explore careers at www.kudernavigator.com
