HENRY VIII. ABOUT THE KING.
Henry VIII (28 June 1491 - 28 January 1547) was ‘King of England and Lord of Ireland’, then also ‘Kingof Ireland’, from 22nd April 1509 until his death. He was the second monarch of the House of Tudor, succeeding his father, Henry VII. Henry VIII is famous for having been married six times and breaking with the Roman Catholic Church. Henry VIII was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. His elder brother, Arthur, Prince of Wales, died in 1501, leaving Henry as heir to the throne.
