  4. Ⅱ. Scenic Spot Introduction Forbidden City The Palace Museum, historically and artistically one of the most comprehensive Chinese museums, was established on the foundation of the palace that was the ritual center of two dynasties, the Ming and the Qing, and their collections of treasures.

  5. Acrobatic Show Chinese Acrobatics is one of the oldest performing arts. Its history can be traced back to Neolithic times. It is believed that acrobatics grew out of labor and self-defense skills, which people practiced and demonstrated during their leisure time. The early performance is "walking on three-meter-high stilts while juggling seven gaggers". Then it developed into an entire art form.

  6. The Great Wall The Great Wall of China is called the "Ten thousand Ii Great Wall" in Chinese. In fact, it' s more than 6 000 kilometres long. It winds its way from west to east, across deserts, over mountains, through valleys till at last it reaches the sea. It is one of the wonders of the world.

  7. Peking Opera Peking Opera is a form of traditional Chinese theatre which combines music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics. It arose in the late 18th century and became fully developed and recognized by the mid-19th century.The form was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty court and has come to be regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China. Major performance troupes are based in Beijing and Tianjin in the north, and Shanghai in the south. The art form is also enjoyed in Taiwan, where it is known as National Opera.

Temple of Heaven As a masterpiece of the Ming and Qing architectural art and a precious example of China’s ancient architecture, the Temple of Heaven is the largest architectural group for worshipping Heaven in the world. The Temple of Heaven was the place where the Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties would worship Heaven and pray for bumper crops.

  9. Hutong Tour by Rickshaw Hutong  is a kind of ancient city alley or lane typical in Beijing, Where the number of hutongs may run into several thousands. They are around the Forbidden City,many of which were built during the three dynasties of Yuan,Ming, and Qing.

  10. Lama Temple Yonghegong (the Lama Temple) is the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. Built in 1694 it was originally a residence for Prince Yongzheng before he ascended the throne. Later in 1744 his successor Emperor Qianlong rebuilt and converted the palace into a temple devoted to the cult of the living Lama.

  11. National Center for Performing Art National Center of Performing Arts is a unique construction designed by French architect Paul Andreu, with the giant silver dome to the west of Tiananmen Square and hosts high-level art performances home and aboard.

  12. Summer Palace The Summer Palace was among the first group of historical and cultural heritage sites in China to be placed under special state protection. The Summer Palace landscape, dominated mainly by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers, three quarters of which is under water.

  13. Bird’s Nest (National Stadium ) The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest" for its architecture, is a stadium under construction on the Olympic Green in Beijing. The stadium will host the main track and field competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. Value of National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) is equal to National Aquatics Stadium’s. It is also the new-rising landmark in Beijing in 2008.

  15. Ming Tombs _ Dingling Tomb The Ming tombs lie in a broad valley to the south of Tianshou (Longevity of Heaven) Mountain in Changping County, about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing proper. To the southwest of this valley, a branch of the Yanshan Range suddenly to breaks off and forms a natural gateway to the 40-quare-kilometer basin in which the tombs were built. This gateway is "defended" on each side by the Dragon and Tiger hills, which are said to protect this sacred area from winds carrying evil influences. Thirteen out of the 16 Ming emperors are buried in this peaceful valley.
