Elliott's Little Incident

2. Once upon a time in a very small town, there was a little boy named Elliott. Elliott was always a very happy child, and he never got in trouble. One night Elliott was in his room. He was sitting at his desk and writing in his journal before he went to sleep. He realized he was extremely thirsty.

3. “Mom, will you bring me a glass of water please?” asked Elliott. “Oh of course honey, just one second.” Elliott’s mother answered in reply. Elliott’s mother brought him a nice, coldglass of ice water.

4. Elliott drank and drank till he was no longer thirsty. Elliott’s mother tucked him into bed and told him goodnight. All of a sudden in the middle of the night, Elliott woke up. Why was his bed so wet?

5. Then Elliott became very sad and realized that he had accidentally used the bathroom in his bed. What was he going to do now? Should he tell his parents? Elliott had never had an accident, and he didn’t know if he would be in trouble or not. Elliott got out of his bed, turned on his light, and tried to hide his incident.

6. Down the hall his mother woke up and began wondering what was causing all the racket. She walked down the hall to Elliott’s room and discovered him rushing around his room. She noticed Elliott trying to take the sheets off of his bed. “What are you doing?” she asked.

7. Elliott looked up and realized his mother was inside his room. Ugh! Why hadn’t he heard her come inside his room? Elliott was so upset he began to cry. Elliott’s mother ran to him and took him in her arms. “Why are you crying Elliott?” she questioned her son.

8. That’s when Elliott’s mother realized why her son was so upset. “Elliott, don’t be upset, everyone has accidents. I promise everything is okay.” she soothed. “Elliott looked up at his mother with hopeful eyes and asked, “Are you sure? Shouldn’t I be in trouble or something? I mean I’m probably the only kid to ever have an accident!”

9. “Oh Elliott, of course not. Everyone has accidents at one point or another. It will be okay. Now, let’s get everything cleaned up so you can get back to bed.”

10. After Elliott and his mother got everything cleaned up she tucked her son back into bed and promised that everything was okay one last time. Elliott never had another accident, but if he had he knew that everything would be okay. Home Everyone lived happily ever dry.
