  2. Primary Changes in these areas • Personalization • PC Settings • Lock Screen and Navigation • Cloud Connectivity • Apps • Windows Store • Search • Internet Explorer

  3. Personalization • Simply tap and hold a tile to select it and bring up the app bar for customization • Switch to all apps by swiping upward on the start screen • Shows apps that have not yet been installed with a down arrow icon

  4. PC Settings • Gives you access to your most used settings without the need to go to a control panel • The PC Settings home page shows your commonly and recently used settings

  5. Lock Screen and Navigation • Lock screen can show a slideshow of pictures • Can start using the webcam right from the lock screen • In the files, Computer is now called This PC and has your libraries such as downloads and documents listed under This PC.

  6. Cloud Connectivity • SkyDrive app provides access to both SkyDrive and Local Files • SkyDrive uses placeholder files instead of full files to save space • You can either manually select the Files or Folders you want to download or download all of them so you always have access to your files

  7. Apps • You can sync apps across your Windows 8.1 PCs, if you uninstall an app you can choose to uninstall from all PCs or only this one • Variable snap views allows you to resize apps to any size, and you can have up to 3 per screen • Run different modern apps on each display • Snap multiple windows of the same app, such as two different webpages

  8. Windows Store • Windows Store apps are now updated automatically in the background • Detailed lists of the top free apps, new releases and picks for you on the homepage • Dedicated search box in the upper right corner for finding the apps you want

  9. Search • Uses Bing to provide results from the web, apps, files, and SkyDrive • Quick actions allow you to play a song or video right from the search

  10. Internet Explorer 11 • Better touch performance • Faster page load times • Adjust the appearance of the modern IE11 app, could always show the address bar • Access open tabs from your other Windows 8.1 devices.
