  2. Paul Revere(1735-1818) • He lived in Boston, Massachusetts. • He joined the “Suns of Liberty”. • People in Boston began to boycott items from Britain. • He was caught in the middle of his warning • He was a silversmith. • He became a mailman too. • He changed America by fighting for us

Anthony(1820-1906) Gave speeches Had to pay 100$ fine because voted Boys and girls are treated equally at the Quaker Church Quaker Church Gave speeches all over the world Lost her job because she complained Was a teacher Got arrested because voted Joined the Anti-Slavery and then the Women’s National Loyal League

  5. Eleanor Roosevelt(1884-1962) • Was wealthy • Was shy • Wanted to care for all people • Amelia Earhart traveled with her all over Washington DC • Toke a picture with some of the reporters • Meet other leaders

  6. Mary McLeod Bethune(1875-1955) Mary Bethune believed in justice and diligence She couldn’t read and couldn’t go to school. She also created a school in Daytona beach Had a meeting with the president and was honored a award by the leaders She made a collage that helped people learn

Johnson(1908-1973) • Was in Congress(youngest member) • Was a teacher • Elected in 1948 • Wanted to solve poverty • Was a senator • Voted to get things in need for people • Segregation started when he was born • He thought the answer to everything was education • Created The Great Society • Grew up poor • Senate fought about segregation for 83 days • Solved voting right act • Got electricity, roads, and schools for the poor • Diligence , Tolerance, Respect for authority

Thurgood Marshall(1908-1993) • He was born in Baltimore, Maryland • He went to Lincon University in Oxford, Pennsylvania (the first African American University) • Segregation affected Thurgood’s life • Wanted justice • He became the top student in his class(Howard University) • Huston and Marshall became good friends • Wanted to be a lawyer • Wanted to end segregation(Went to the Supreme Court) • Work at NAACP(National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) • Slavery ended • Brown Vs. The Board of Education • People made up a song about Thurgood Marshall that is called “Thurgood Marshall,Mr. Civil Rights • Freedom of Expression , Justice, Freedom of Authority

  10. Cesar Chavez(1927-1993) • He is born in Yuma, Arizona • Was a migrant worker • Was poor • Went to thirty different schools • Were not treated fairly • Never stopped learning • Went to school until eight grade • Freedom of Expression, Diligence, Justice
