  2. Basic Info Ordered by subspecies with greatest population to subspecies that first went extinct 9 subspecies- 3 extinct Endangered Largest Asian cat species Weight: 220-670 lb. Length: 4-10 ft. Habitat: forests Places: Thailand, Indonesia, India

  3. Extinction High demand for meat and fur 800-900left in wild Cubs only born every 2 - 2.5 years Forced to compete w/ us for habitat The ecosystems where the tigers live supply both nature and people with fresh water, food, and many other vital services – which means by saving the tiger, we are saving people too

  4. What can we do to take responsibility? • Donate to organizations like WWF, The Sierra Club, and Oceana. You get a cute little calendar when you donate, so it’s a win-win relationship. • Adopt a tiger for a month from a zoo • Do your part to spread awareness-challenge yourself to research about endangered species, and then see how many times you can annoy/educate your friends (heck, even random strangers) by spouting these awesome facts to them! • Raise funding to preserve the habitats where these beautiful animals live. • Visit parks that specialize in tigers for tourists to view. The money you spend on your ticket goes straight back to the animals and research.

  5. Extra Facts There are more tigers held privately as pets than out in the wild A group of tigers is known as an ambush or streak Around half of tiger cubs don’t live beyond two years Tigers are good swimmers and can swim up to 6 kilometers, or 65.6 football fields A tiger’s night vision is 6 times stronger than a human’s Tigers are capable of killing prey twice their size; they’re one of the most feared predators in the animal kingdom
