  2. What Does Baby Look Like? Length: 6-9cm Weight: 19g External: Nails appearing Resemble Human Skin is Pink and Delicate “Tail” is completely gone

  3. What Does Baby Look Like? Baby By Organ System: GI: Intestines have started to form Musculoskeletal: Bone formation is continued, and some smooth muscle Circulatory: Blood forming in marrow & can hear heatbeat Respiratory: Lungs gain shape and vocal cords appear Renal: Kidneys able to make urine and bladder becomes a sac Nervous: Brain structure almost complete and baby can now suck his/her thumb Genital: External genitalia forming, can possibly tell sex

  5. What Dose Mom Look Like? Usually less Nausea/Vomiting Can Start to eat more now Women start to “glow” Uterus starts the “bump” as it is now above the pubic bone Chloasma “Mask of Pregnancy” in some Breast Tenderness Hair Changes Fatigue Frequent Urination Increases Sensitive Gums

  6. Tests, Labs, Procedures? Urinalysis Blood Work: Check for Trisomy 21 & NTD’s Weight Fundal Height Ultrasound: Fetal Heart Rate, Fetal Growth, Sex of Baby, Placenta, Fetal Abnormalities

  7. Moms Plan of Care? Keep up prenatal vitamins Continue to eat and drink healthy choices Increase Fiber and Fluid Make plans to attend a birthing class or infant CPR class Discuss and Prepare a birth plan Make another appointment
