  2. Summary of Chapter 11 • Friedman the author of the book, the World is Flat, has many valid opinions on how companies utilize fast-developing and fast paced technology. In the book, Friedman also includes opinions about how companies cope with the fast paced technology in Chapter 11. His opinion is based on companies that are willing to change and are open-minded to change have a greater probability to contribute. They have a lesser probability to have things done against them.

  3. Focus of the Chapter • He focuses mainly on a wide variety and range of industries. This is here the supply is almost unlimited and everything is the same. The many options confuse the clients leading to everyone being the same. With the fast-paced technology, companies are pushed to start a new trend, by being creative and innovative. • Some examples include Aramex and Starbucks

How Companies such as Aramex cope • Aramex introduced a web-based global delivery network that allows the company to compete with the biggest companies around the world and cut costs financially. Aramex started a new trend by being creative, this did not just help the company to grow and be recognized around the world, but also cut costs that would be useful during the entire life of the company.

  5. How companies such as Starbucks cope • Starbucks as well learnt from their customers, as an open to change business, to use soy milk in their coffee to cut costs. • This shows that companies do whatever to stay on top and satisfy their customers no matter what. • The best companies use outsourcing as method to cope with other companies. This allows them to provide customers with better services.
