  3. What is an Internship? Any carefully monitored work or service experience in which a student has an intentional learning goal to gain non-traditional or additional knowledge beyond the class from the work exposure.

  4. An Internship: • Is a time-limited experience that can range from one month to one year, but usually lasts about three months. • Includes an intentional “learning plan” that is structured into the experience. • Balances the intern’s learning goals with the specific work the organization needs completed. • Promotes academic, career and/or personal development. • Has an existing employee working in the department/position to mentor and supervise the intern. • Typically includes learning objectives, observations, reflections, evaluation and assessment. • May be part-time or full-time.

AHC could host a “Job Fair Interview” day for Wineries • AHC markets the positions to the appropriate students • AHC will collect and provide student resumes and cover letters to the potential employer (you!) • Together we Identify a day and block of time on the AHC campus (at the Winery) • Hold a Mix and Mingle time for students and employers • Complete individual interviews based on review of the student resumes
