  2. Last week • Built a better shield • Contacted Bonitron, but did not get a reply • Built and tested a pair of spiral transformers • Met with Professor Cook and Wells • Obtained contact with Janice Rock of AMCOM RF department

  3. Planned for Last week • Bonitron • Transformer/Magnetic wire coils • Rebuild EVERYTHING! • ...and re-test • Better shield... • ..more...

  4. Better shielding built with large box and aluminum foil

  5. Shielding

  6. Meeting with Prof. Cook and Wells • Discussed our current experiments and designs • Suggested building and testing a spiral antenna • Built and tested a spiral antenna, but did not get better results • Aluminum foil wont be the ideal shield • Need thicker sheets of Al, or use Cu • “You’d have to drive the hell out of that coil to see a field at 1cm” - Wells

  7. Next Week • Receive the magnetic wire • Establish a conversation with Janice Rock • Get RF Toolbox for Matlab • Regroup • Wrap up research and simulations • Assemble Research Data • Assign further tasks • Begin work on final report
