  1. Confirmation Class Lesson 8 “Jesus Christ is exalted in Glory”

  2. What is exultation? • Exultation:Being lifted up, entering glory

  3. will come as judge Sits at God’s right hand Ascended into heaven Rose from the dead “…God exalted him.” TO PROVE WE ARE REDEEMED! Descended into hell

  4. God’s Word and My Life • Jesus did not descend into hell to give the devil and his evil angels or unbelievers in hell a second chance. What is one reason that is it important for us to understand this? • No second chances, only one judgement! • One life to live, cannot say, “Well, I will have faith in God the second time around.”

  5. Why Hell?

  6. Jesus descended into hell. 1Peter 3:18-19 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison. Colossians 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. • When? After his death and becoming alive again. • Why? To proclaim to the devil he had won the victory.

  7. Jesus rose from the dead. Matthew 28:1-8 Romans 1:4 Who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 1. He is God and what he says is true. Romans 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. 2. We are completely redeemed and justified. John 14:19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 3. We will also rise bodily from the dead.

  8. 1. To assure us of a prepared heavenly home. 2. To assure us he will come back the same way he went. Jesus ascended into heaven. John 14:2-3 Acts 1:9-11 Matthew 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Why should that passage bring joy to our hearts?...

  9. Jesus now sits at God’s right hand!(the position of power and authority). Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 1. As our High Priest he intercedes for us as we pray. Luke 10:16 2. As our Prophet he guides us with his Word. Ephesians 1:20-23 Romans 8:38-39 3. As our King he rules all things for our good.

  10. Therefore, to him be. . . All glory and power forever.
