  1. Composite Design Engineer Salary – £40,000 + Composite Design Engineer As a Composite Design Engineer with the team in Hertfordshire, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of aerospace composite structures to the requirements defined in customer Equipment Specifications. It is the perfect opportunity for an experienced composite design engineer to work on leading-edge projects. As a Composite Design Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:- Determining optimum design solutions against customer Equipment Specification requirements- Undertaking design activities in accordance with programme and budget- Defining Test Plans and liaison with Test Houses to oversee qualification testing- Presentation of design data at internal / external Design Reviews- Providing design support to business operations and mentoring of junior members of staff- Generation of design reports to support component qualification and certification activities- Support Business Development through the generation of design concepts at the bidding stage. As a Composite Design Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:- Technical qualification to HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. mechanical engineering- Proven experience in design of fibre-reinforced composite structures; experience with CATIA V5 and Fibresim will be considered an advantage- Demonstrated experience in performing stress analysis on composite structures using FE packages such as Ansys, Nastran, NX I-DEAS or similar will be a distinct advantage- Familiarity with military and civil certification requirements for aircraft structures, systems or components is desirable What we will be looking for in you: We are looking for someone with demonstrated technical competence, a passion for excellence, and a head full of innovative ideas to support us in achieving and maintaining a World leading position for our composites solutions.
