Positioning and Role of AFACT • Capacity building Support to the regional economies and bodies through training, guideline, consulting, etc. • An organization for Coordination of standard in the region ► Coordination of standard: AFACT intends to promote global or regional standard and provide guidance, by taking into account regional requirements, on the use of standards developed by global bodies, including regional extension, profile, customization or operation through project mode. • Promotion through eAsia Award, EDICOM, etc. ◈ These need to be integrated in the principles and approaches of AFACT in some documents such as the Bylaws

RFEOI for AFACT Secretariat ◈ Duties and requirements for the two models (existing and permanent) were defined. ◈ Application procedures for potential candidates were defined. ◈ Selection procedure with caution for application is in place. ◈ Benefits for the commitment to the AFACT community is to be elaborated. ◈ Proforma form for the application is in the process of development.

  8. AFACT JWG Transition Plan JWGs to decide on the Committee they want to transition to The JWG is automatically dissolved. No Yes Continue under the Transitioned Committee? Dissolve the WG and be part of the transitioned committee No ● Participation of at least 3 member countries/economies ● Prepare ToR ● Prepare WG Work Program for next 3 years ● Physical meeting at the 27th AFACT with leadership election Yes WG Requirements

Plenary Steering Committee AFACT Secretariat (Business) Domain Committee [BDC] Interoperability Committee [IC] (Community) Support) Committee [CSC] Handles the issues and requirements of business domains (may have working groups on specific domains) Handles the issues of technical interoperability in e-Business and trade facilitation (may have working Groups on specific technical problem) Provides necessary support to AFACT community on Capacity-building, competence and awareness

  11. eAsia Award Standard Procedure ◈ 2009 eAsia Award annoucement was already made with relevant documents - Great effort of 2009 eAsia Award Secretariat with the support of TFT ◈ eAsia Award Standard Procedure - Need to install a standard manual to regularize and document all the necessary procedures and tasks in preparing and implementing the biannual eAsia Award Event

Next Steps and Future Direction ◈ TFT has Worked long enough to conduct the empowered duties. ◈ However, there still remain significant work to do to complete the given tasks. - Completion of RFEOI - JWG Transition Plan with the basics on three committees - eAsia Award Manual ◈ TFT is seeking the guidance of the StC for its future work direction.
