  2. Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns and Task Force on Women in the Courts recommend: • - Pro Se Form Packets that are user- friendly • - Ombudsman Program

  3. Judiciary/Administrative Office of the Courts initiates quality customer service delivery: • Total Quality Management • Give’m the Pickle

  4. Convene Ad Hoc Working Group for Pro Se Materials: • Define standards for customer-friendly, self-represented litigant form packets • Review and modify/enhance form packets submitted by trial court divisions • Publish form packets on-line and hard copy • Translate form packets into Spanish - Expand translation efforts to other languages, including Portuguese and Polish.

  6. Develop Ombudsman Pilot Program: • Implement Ombudsman pilots - Camden Vicinage (1994) - Essex Vicinage (1996) • Define program requirements • Implement state-wide Ombudsman Program (2005)

  7. Ombudsman Mission • To promote an environment of continuous improvement in areas of customer service and equal court access in compliance with court policies and procedures by establishing effective mechanisms for: Public Information, Community Relations and Citizen Assistance.
