  1. Constraining gluon distribution in a proton in CMS detector using the process “Z+jet” S. Banerjee, M. Dittmar, M. Guchait, Sangeeta Singh India-CMS Collaboration Meeting Delhi University, Delhi, 28 Sept. 2007

  2. Reconstruction using datasets in CMSSW_1_3_1 • Datasets used:/ZmumuJets_Pt_80_120/CMSSW_1_3_1-Spring07-1201/GEN-SIM-DIGI-RECO • CKIN(3) = 80 GeV and CKIN(4) = 120 GeV

  3. Selection cuts used for event selection Numver of events 7542 7282 4894 4081 3214 Total number of events = 15000

  4. pT and | η| distribution of Z reconstructed out of two muons μ+ and μ-

  5. pT and | η| distribution of muon μ+

  6. pT and | η| distribution of 1st jet

  7. Variation with different PDFs CTEQ MRST • Using CMSSW_1_6_0 • Number of events = 5000 • pT of raw Z • Rapidity of raw Z

  8. Future Plan: Detailed study with LHAPDF.  May be we can include Z → e+e- final state • Background (mainly QCD) need to be estimated • How do the distribution change with higher order effects? Study using MCFM, MCNLO • Upgrade CMSSW version to CMSSW_1_6_0 • Contribute to CSA07 Thank you
