America Heroes. By: Alexa. Paul Revere 1735- 1818. Paul Revere lived in Boston, Mass.. He lived when Great Britain had power over them. He had many obstacles to come such as taxes. Paul Revere fought for our freedom and we began a new world.

  2. Paul Revere 1735- 1818 • Paul Revere lived in Boston, Mass.. • He lived when Great Britain had power over them. • He had many obstacles to come such as taxes. Paul Revere fought for our freedom and we began a new world. • Paul Revere had diligence (hard working) and liberty (freedom)

  3. Fredrick Douglas 1818 -1895 • Fredrick Douglas lived in Baltimore, Maryland where he was en-slaved ( can not learn ) • He wanted to end slavery. He went on a train to Great Britain to give speeches. • A friend payed for his freedom. • Now we do not have slavery all because off him. • Fredrick Douglas had liberty and justice.

  4. Susan B. Anthony1820-1906 Was fined 100 dollars. I am against slavery. Quaker church She was a teacher. But got fired when she complained about money. She voted even though women were not allowed to. Other women helped Susan B. Antony fight for woman's suffrage. At the Quaker Church boys and girls were equal. In 1920 women were allowed to vote. Had diligence and Justice.

  5. Franklin D. Roosevelt 1882-1945 Lived in New York Married Eleanor Was the president For 12 years. Had polio Wealthy family Went swimming in a pool to heal his legs. Went to a law school Went to a boarding School. Had liberty and diligence Drove a red car.

  6. Eleanor Roosevelt 1884-1962 Born in New York and had a wealthy family. Taught college when she was 75 yr. old. Travled around the world. Made the human rights. Was the first lady to ride in a air plane . Was very shy. Had six children. Had tolerance, cooperation, and respect for and acceptance of authority. Married Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1905. Moved to the White House when Franklin D. Roosevelt became the President of the United States .

  7. Mary McLeod Bethune 1875-1955 • Mary McLeod Bethune • Diligence proud • Slavery had ended • Couldn’t go to school • She became a teacher at school • African Americans got jobs because of her. • They made a statue f or all her diligence.

  8. Lyndon B. Johnson1908-1973 Grew up in Texas. No running water or electricity in house. Believed that education would help overcome poverty. Was in the Congress. Voted on roads, electricity, and money for schools. Worked on the Great Society. Became vice president then president. Had diligence, tolerance, and respect for and acceptance of authority. Wanted a law known as the Civil Rights Act. He made a preschool to get a head start in learning. Wanted to solve poverty. Was very poor. Followed Dad’s footsteps.

Johnson • Wealthy • Grew up in New York • The New Deal • Was the longest President • Had polio • Followed Uncle’s footsteps • Went to boarding school. • Helped America by doing The New Deal. • Poor • Grew up in Texas • The Great Society • 6 yrs of president • Member of Senate And house of rep. • Followed dad’s footsteps. • Helped America by ending poverty.

  10. Thurgood Marshall1908-1993 • Grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. • Memorized the Constitution. • Grew up where there was Segregation. • Became a lawyer and judge. • He got picked by Lyndon B. Johnson to be in the Supreme Court. • Had Justice, freedom of conscience and expression, and respect for and acceptance of authority. • He ended unjust laws. • Grew up when there was segregation. • Wanted to end unfair treatment of African Americans.

Cesar Chaves 1927-1993 • He was born in Yuma, Arizona. • His family would move from farm to farm to earn money. • They were migrant workers and were treated unfairly. • Went to the Navy but the treated him unfairly there too. • Went to 30 different schools before 8th grade. • In 1948 He Married Helen Fabela. • He formed the Farm Worker's Association and little by little the union grew and then they went on strike. • They were poor. • He refused to eat for 36 days. • He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. • People treated him unfairly just because he was Mexican America. • He had Diligence ,Justice, and Freedom of expression.

  12. My Favorite is Lyndon B. Johnson. I like him because he helped with poverty. He voted to have roads, electricity, and money for schools. He Made the Voting Rights Act so African Americans did not have to take a test before voting. He make a Civil Rights Act. Thought education would he overcome poverty so he made a preschool so people without money could get a head start in learning.
