  3. Assessing the Need Nearly 60%(1.6 million) of the children in Florida qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Less than 14%of those children received meals in the SFSP in 2011.

  17. Together Florida’s 67 counties served nearly 11 million nutritiousbreakfasts, lunches, snacks, and suppers.

  18. Nearly 3,300 nonprofits across the state receivedover $27 million in federal resources to serve the children of their communities.

  19. OVER 39,000FIRST-TIME USERS OF WWW.SUMMERFOODFLORIDA.ORG Marketing the website statewide for the first time generated over two and a half times more visitors than the previous summer’s eight-county pilot.

  20. Partnering with 2-1-1 Statewide • Multi-lingual operators • Reporting and assessment capabilities • Open extended hours • Access to 2-1-1’s promotion outlets to families in need and other organizations serving target populations.

  22. Florida served nearly half a million more breakfasts,lunches, and suppers in 2012 than in 2011. That’s a 5.4% increase over one year!

  23. Statewide Growth in Summer Meals/Snacks between 2011 and 2012

  24. Nearly $2 million in newfederal resources helped Florida’s nonprofits serve summer meals to children in communities across the state. An increase of 7.6%.
