  2. Characteristics of Blanche: • Her love of poetry, and romance. Conversely she cannot tolerate coarse, uncouth behaviour • She has insights and perception into character. • She tends to express herself in eloquent language, with poetic symbolism, using imaginative expressions and exaggeration.

  3. Characteristics of Stanley • He is coarse and unrefined both in speech and actions (however, point out that these are exaggerated by Blanche as she is prone to express herself through metaphors and other imagery. However there is more than a grain of truth in what Blanche says)
