Louth Older People’s Forum • The voice of older people is captured in the Louth Older People’s Forum which was formed as a result of workshops held throughout the county asking older people how the forum should be constituted. The forum is constituted from 4 areas as follows: • Older People’s Groups • Advocacy Groups for Older People • Nursing Homes and Day Care/Hospital • Individuals • There are 230 people registered with the forum

  8. Priority Actions Identified by LOPF LOPF developed an action plan at a policy day and identified the following priorities: • Safety & Security • Housing Adaptations • Home Care • Transport • Volunteering

Transport Audit—2010 Recommendations Improve Connect and Collect services Increase efficiencies and effectiveness of existing expenditure Improve Co-ordination among stakeholders Louth Age Friendly Transport Group—chaired by Mr Andy Cullen, former Assist Sec Gen at Dept of Transport Achievements to Date: ‘quick win’ on the Louth Age Friendly County website a ‘transport tab’ which has the timetables of all transport services within the county and links to the website of the transport providers. This will be extended to a journey planner Hub and spoke developments in Drogheda, liaising with Bus Eireann eg improving links between the BE depot and the Hospital Pilot projects are being designed for Clogherhead, Ardee and Cooley looking at the idea of a ‘community car’ where people will support each other; Trip Sharing and Volunteer Personalised Transport Service Transport

Listening to the voice of Older People Older People’s Forum Executive meet on a 6 week basis Annual Conferences July 2010& 2011 (approx 250 older people attending) LOPF act as ambassadors to other Age Friendly Counties—Ann Egan, Ann Ward and Mary Dunne LOPF Actions Fáilte Isteach—older people teaching new migrants conversational English—DDS4OP Positive Ageing Week—Dundalk & Drogheda Senior Help Line—Dundalk & Drogheda Bealtaine—LLA, Arts and Library Service & Older People GAA Social Initiative—Cooley Kickams and Knockbridge Respect & Social Inclusion

Awareness Products & Services Wisdom in the Work Place Senior Enterprise & Entrepreneurship 50+ Enterprise Workshop Recognition—Ardee pilot area. 32 businesses signed up Civic Participation & Employment

  17. Health Working Group—chaired by HSE Tele-health Trials—Bosch, Home Sweet Home and Great Northern Haven— cross agency supported projects HSE services in North East New A&E Department Medical Assessment Unit Coronary & Intensive Care Community Support & Health Services
