  5. Georgia Statistics • The number 1 killer of teens is from motor vehicle accidents. • 51% of the teens who died in 2006 from motor vehicle accidents were not wearing their seatbelt.

  6. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration According to NHTSA, seat belts saved an estimated 15,383 lives in 2006 for those over 4 years of age.

Georgia Law Ga Code 40-8-76.1 states (b) Each occupant of the front seat of a passenger vehicle shall, while such passenger vehicle is being operated on a public road, street, or highway of this state, be restrained by a seat safety belt approved under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 (e)(3) Each minor six years of age or older who is an occupant of a passenger vehicle shall, while such passenger vehicle is being operated on a public road, street, or highway of this state, be restrained by a seat safety belt approved under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208.
