  2. INTRODUCTION Black Cohosh is an alternative to hormone replacement for women and helps relieve Menopausal symptoms.

  3. OBJECTIVE • Determining which treatments will lead to the highest germination rates

  4. HOW TO INGEST BLACK COHOSH Can be ingested in these forms: • Liquid form • Powered form • Tablet form Is produced from the plant rhizome (underground stem)

  5. QUESTIONS • What was the temperature that the seeds were exposed to? • For how long? • What the anticipated germination rate is? • How have the seeds been handled?

  6. MATERIALS • 6 Petri dishes • Small amount of distilled water • Small amount of sand • 6 treatments, 30 seeds per treatment, 180 seeds total

  7. METHODS Placing sand in each Petri dish, some moistened and others unmoistened at different temperature’s

  10. RESULTS • Out of 5 different treatments, treatment 1 had 5 seeds germinate ( July 16, 09) and treatment 3 had 2 seeds ( July 20, 09)

  11. DISCUSSION • With results showing faster germination occurrence helps contribute to faster treatment for menopausal symptoms.
