  2. The Threat “…if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.”

  3. The Prayer That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret;

  4. I. THE DREAM RECEIVED (vv. 1-30) • A. The Consummation of History "There is a God in heaven who revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king, Nebuchadnezzar, what shall be in the latter days." • B. The Succession of History Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed are these: As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter; and he who revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass"

  5. II. THE DREAM RECALLED (vv. 31-35) • A. The Description of the Statue (vv. 31-33)

  6. B. The Destruction of the Statue (vv. 34-35) • A stone was cut out without hands which smote the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces.

  7. III. THE DREAM REVEALED (vv. 36-45) “…and he who revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass"

  8. A. Babylon (vv. 37-38) Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. Thou art this head of gold.

  9. B. Medo-Persia (v. 39a) • "And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee."

  10. C. Greece (v. 39b) • "Another third kingdom of bronze, which shall bear rule over all the earth."

  11. D. Rome (vv. 40-43) • "The fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron."

  12. 1. Rome Revived “And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken”

  13. The Kingdoms of This World Will Fall

  14. Conclusion Can America survive? Can the nations of this age endure? We are succumbing already to the deadly, inevitable deterioration of man. We are a selfish people, and our selfishness will result in self- destruction.

  15. Revival or Revolution? • Unless the Lord sends a revival among the peoples of this world we can count on the complete dissolution of our governments.

  16. Next Week • Daniel 2:44“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. “
